Useful answers before you call or visit.
These are general answers about the clinic and dental appointments. Advice about your own dental condition requires an individual assessment.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes. Vulcan Dental Clinic welcomes new patients. Call the clinic or submit an online appointment request and the office will contact you to confirm availability and appointment details.
Do you direct bill dental benefits?
The clinic can direct bill many benefit plans when the insurer supports it. Coverage, deductibles, frequency limits and maximums depend on the individual plan, so benefit estimates are not guarantees of payment.
How often should I have a dental cleaning?
The right interval varies. Gum health, periodontal history, buildup, home care, medical factors and cavity risk all influence how often professional hygiene care may be recommended.
Do I need dental X-rays at every visit?
No. Dental radiographs are recommended when they are clinically useful based on your history, symptoms, previous images, age and risk factors.
When should a child first see a dentist?
Early dental visits are useful for checking development and helping caregivers with home care and nutrition. The Canadian Dental Association generally recommends a first visit within six months of the first tooth appearing or by one year of age.
What if I have a painful or broken tooth?
Call the clinic and describe what is happening. A focused examination may be needed to determine whether the concern involves decay, a crack, the dental pulp, gums, bite or another cause.
Do you provide root canals and extractions?
Yes. Vulcan Dental Clinic provides root canal therapy and tooth extractions. The complexity of the case and your health history determine whether care is appropriate in the clinic or referral is recommended.
Do you place dental implants?
Yes. The clinic provides implant assessment, placement and restoration, along with socket-preservation procedures when appropriate. Suitability depends on bone, gum health, medical factors and treatment goals.
Do you offer sedation?
Yes. The clinic offers nitrous oxide and oral sedation for appropriate patients and procedures. The dentist will review your health history, medications and treatment before recommending a sedation plan.
What payment methods do you accept?
The clinic currently lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express, debit, e-transfer, cheque and cash as accepted payment methods, in addition to direct billing when available.
Does an online appointment request mean I am booked?
No. The website form sends a request to the clinic. Your appointment is confirmed only after the office contacts you with an agreed date and time.
What are your office hours?
Reception is open Monday from 9:00 am to noon. Clinical appointments are currently offered Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Friday is closed. Call the clinic for current availability.
Still have a question?
Call the clinic or use the appointment request form and the office can help with the next step.
