Comfort-focused dentistry

Dental Anxiety & Sedation Options

Dental anxiety is common. Vulcan Dental offers a calm, step-by-step approach and sedation options for appropriate patients and procedures.

How we approach it

Start with the diagnosis, then choose the treatment.

Depending on your health history and treatment, options may include oral sedation or nitrous oxide. The dentist will review suitability, medication considerations, transportation requirements and what to expect.

Care may include

  • Open discussion of dental anxiety and previous experiences
  • Local anesthetic and comfort-focused treatment planning
  • Nitrous oxide sedation when appropriate
  • Oral sedation for selected patients and procedures
  • Pre-sedation health and medication review
  • Referral when a deeper level of sedation or anesthesia is required
What to expect

A simple, step-by-step process.

01

Tell us what makes care difficult

Understanding previous experiences, triggers and specific concerns helps us plan a more comfortable visit.

02

Review health and treatment

Sedation suitability depends on medical history, medications, procedure type and other individual factors.

03

Follow the safety plan

If sedation is used, follow the clinic instructions about food, medications, transportation, escorts and activity afterward.
